Coronavirus lab test

A new antibody test for coronavirus has been developed by a British testing laboratory. The kits are compact and can be used anywhere, and produce a positive or negative result in just 15 minutes. The patient simply has to give a small blood sample using a fingerprick device - no unpleasant mouth or throat swabs are needed. The company who make the tests have pledged to give the priority to the NHS. The remainder will be sold to businesses and other organisations who wish to test their workers. The testing kits can detect whether somebody is currently infected, or indicate that they have had a past infection and since recovered.
