How to do a DNA test at home



In the past, DNA testing was a complicated process carried out by scientists in futuristic labs, or forensic experts in police stations. Well things have changed rapidly over the last couple of decades - today, getting a DNA test is as simple as taking a mouth swab and putting it in an envelope. It can be done in your own living room and the samples can be sent off in the mail. What's more, DNA testing has become very affordable - around £99 or $119 dollars for the most simple 'peace of mind' test.

The most popular DNA test is a paternity test, used to confirm whether or not a man is the biological father of a child. Other common tests include sibling tests, twin (zygosity) tests, aunt/uncle (avancular) testing, grandparent testing and Y chromosome testing.
